The Mulch Center is a leading manufacturer and provider of premium landscaping materials and soil products, with several locations throughout the Chicago area. They offer a large selection of mulch, soils, and aggregates, for both residential and commercial customers.

Despite their offline success, the client previously had no way for customers to request quotes or order products online. And due to the nature of their business, they needed an ecommerce site with the ability to customize ordering and delivery options. They also needed the ability to manage oniline orders, along with other aspects of their website, with an easy-to-use content management system (CMS).

To meet these needs, PixelPeople customized both the design and functionality of a WooCommerce theme, on the WordPress platform, to fit the client’s ways of doing business. The new website provides ecommerce functionality, molded to The Mulch Center’s off-line processes for providing quotes and delivery options for its local customer base. It also provides a handy mulch calculator to help customers estimate how much mulch to order. And of course the site is fully responsive, providing full functionality on any size screen, and features an off-canvas mobile menu to ensure simple navigation for mobile visitors.
